Martin A. Schweighauser
Chief Executive Officer
Martin has spent over 30 years working across the energy, banking, insurance and business intelligence sectors, of which 20 were in general management, culminating in CEO and BoD positions. While with blue chip multinational corporates (Shell, Chevron, BP, ABB, ABNAMRO Bank, Amsterdam Power Exchange, SwissRe), Martin has worked and lived internationally all his life, in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America.
Prior to earning his MBA degree at Insead, Martin’s work was mainly technological, as a geophysicist, in both HQ locations and complex field environments. His MBA put him on a management and leadership track and exposed him heavily to all major markets, both purely business-wise but also culturally, including China and Japan where he was heavily involved in negotiations, both for straight business deals as well as for joint ventures.
In the years immediately preceding his joining LERG, Martin advised and was active in a variety of small and start-up companies ranging from Heavy Industry, Consumer Goods, Artificial Intelligence to Green Energy (Hydrogen based). His focus was mainly on company (re)structuring, growth, strategic (re)orientation, fundraising, oversight and leadership.
Chief Operating Officer
Jeff serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Low Emissions Resources Global (LERG) and as the VP of Operations for Low Emissions Resources Corp (LERC) His responsibility include overall responsibility for the oversight of the research and product development operations in Dundee, Scotland as well as the management of strategic partnerships and academic relationships.
Jeff is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of manufacturing, sales, material handling and supply chain management experience. Throughout his career he has been heavily involved in the design and implementation of distribution and manufacturing facilities. He also was responsible for managing a worldwide supply chain for a consumer electronics business. Prior to joining LERC, Jeff held several position for PNY Technologies, Inc. in Parsippany NJ, including VP of Supply Chain.
Jeff earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Upsala College in East Orange NJ with additional studies at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also has Six Sigma Black Belt designation.
Chief Financial Officer
Tim has comprehensive management and administrative experience in a number of industries including Food and Beverage, Real Estate, Professional Services, and Media and Entertainment. He is a CPA and holds an M.B.A. degree with a specialization in Taxation. Tim began his career with Ernst and Young (EY) followed by 10 years at The New York Times as Director of FP&A and Controller of its subsidiary Golf Digest and Tennis Magazine. Tim moved on to International Creative Management (ICM) where he spent 16 years as a Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration, functioning as Administrative Head of ICM’s New York office. Tim then served as the CFO for various organizations. Most recently, he was a partner at CFO Consulting Partners LLC and a Director of Finance for the New York Wheel LLC.
Chief Science Officer
As Chief Science Officer of LERG, Joshua brings with him more than 15 years of experience in high tech ceramics across several industries. His experience ranges from material research and turbine blade coatings through pilot production, product development and large-scale manufacturing of ionic conducting ceramic components.
Prior to joining LERC, Joshua was the Director, Fuel Cell Ceramics at Protonex Technology (Ballard) and held engineering roles at Coors Tek Ceramics and Pratt and Whitney. He holds a B.S. in Glass/Ceramic Engineering from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and continued his education at the Colorado School of Mines. He holds multiple patents in ceramic materials development and processing.
Dr. Zac Dehaney-Steven
Zac Dehaney-Steven, serves as the Lead Scientist for Low Emissions Resources Global and manages the team that is responsible for fundamental materials research, catalyst development and post-test analysis of cells. He has primary responsibility for the LERG research facility in Dundee, Scotland and serves as a liaison with some of our academic partners.
Dr. Dehaney-Steven obtained his PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2017 under the supervision of Dr John Irvine with a thesis titled Development and Testing of Mixed-Phase Oxygen Transport Membranes.
Prior to PhD studies, he worked in a UK-based company on the development and scale-up of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC). He has worked for several well respected power and pharmaceutical companies such as Ceres Power and Genzyme.
